Are you wanting to put windows 10 on the system or keep it with Windows 7?
Just to confirm you are having issues with the file that is downloaded to create the windows 10 USB drive?
Can you have a friend create the USB drive for you?
In order to do this properly will need some system information.
Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.
Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.Comment

I have a mate who will put Windows 10 onto a USB and once I have it I will install it and see where I go from there. I will no longer want to run Windows 7 so it would be Windows 10 . I am assuming that installing Windows 10 that I can use my registry code from my genuine copy of Windows 7 to register Windows 10.Comment

Sounds like a plan.
Make sure to go through @PeterOz instruction in Post 12 to make sure that you ask questions. Once you start the install since you stated it is the only system you have you will not be able to contact us for assistance.

If the system has more than one disk drive, you will need to disconnect all except the on that you are install the OS upon.Comment

Did you create the Win 10 usb as per my post?
If yes
Power off
insert usb into a black usb port
Turn on computer and start tapping the F12 key. This will give a boot menu.
From the boot menu pick usb
and continue the install.
MAKE SURE 1 drive only is connected.Comment
