Reinstalled Windows 7 and now cannot open any software to run

Just to confirm you are having issues with the file that is downloaded to create the windows 10 USB drive?

Can you have a friend create the USB drive for you?

In order to do this properly will need some system information.

I have a mate who will put Windows 10 onto a USB and once I have it I will install it and see where I go from there. I will no longer want to run Windows 7 so it would be Windows 10 . I am assuming that installing Windows 10 that I can use my registry code from my genuine copy of Windows 7 to register Windows 10.

Sounds like a plan.

Make sure to go through @PeterOz instruction in Post 12 to make sure that you ask questions. Once you start the install since you stated it is the only system you have you will not be able to contact us for assistance.

I am assuming that installing Windows 10 that I can use my registry code from my genuine copy of Windows 7 to register Windows 10.

If that does not work, you may need to contact Microsoft and or purchase a registration number.

If the system has more than one disk drive, you will need to disconnect all except the on that you are install the OS upon.

I have windows 10 now on a usb, I went on gigabytes website for bios update for my motherboard X58A-UD3R and there isn’t one ! The version I have is FA. Date 20\04\2010
So I decided to install windows 10 from the usb and when I go into the bios it cannot find it and instead comes up with floppy disc not found.

insert usb into a black usb port
Turn on computer and start tapping the F12 key. This will give a boot menu.
From the boot menu pick usb
and continue the install.
MAKE SURE 1 drive only is connected.

Might also try clearing the CMOS Values Page 29

I’ve tried installing it from a blank USB port -USB-HDD and this was unsuccessful as my PC did not respond. I am now thinking of copying Windows 10 installation onto my desktop and see if it will install from there, as I don’t have faith in my ability for clearing CMOS values and resetting BIOS and potentially causing further issues.

They did create the install media and not just download and copy the ISO file to the USB drive right?

Yes, , because when he done it I was on my mobile to him making sure it was the 64bit version and that the install media was downloaded to a usb pen.
