Win7 won’t connect to new wireless internet

I recently changed internet provider, it’s “wireless”
I click bottom right to bring up ..”connections are available”

Dial-up and VPN
Below that it shows: my username [connect]
Below that is : Broadband
Below that is:WiFi

I click on Connect, It displays Connecting through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)

But of course…. Neither of the options will connect (obviously ignioring the Dial up ???)

Many thanks.

Open device manager, select your wireless driver. Right click and select uninstall.

Make sure you do not check the box that reads delete driver software.

Reboot the machine, then try and connect to internet.

Windows will auto reload the driver, clearing any previous settings.

Just realised, to setup Pc to connect ….your mention of .”windows will download the new driver…. But ??? pc. not currently connected to Internet….
???. Maybe I’ll need to unplug modem, take it up and directly plug it to pc…. Then do as suggested. Assuming I have a cable to connect it .
If not …Vodafone did say they can provide cables at no charge.
Though this may likely mean mr having to relocate the modem about several metres from centre of house.
Time will tell…….. oh dear???. Everything not always straight forward n simple.

are the iPads and phones are connecting to the new modem OK?

when you clicked on the Connections icon (bottom right of screen) are you not seeing the wireless network name the new modem is pumping out?

Does not need to be online when you uninstall the driver then reboot, windows will automatically reinstall it. There is no downloading involved in the process.

I’m not even locating device driver, I have now got a cable, will give that a try, though it’ll mean shifting the modem to enable cable connection ,if that works, I’ll check if the wireless still reaches all parts of house … it should do.
One wife gets home from getting the cable….. I’ll let you know if all ok,.
It is annoying that I’m not locating thst driver, maybe this old pc is just Too old.
??????
Ps…. I’m using iPad to send all this, but the click to stay logged in , just won’t let me tap to stay logged in …. ???

Hit the windows key and R at the same time and type hdwwiz.cpl then hit enter, this will open device manager.

Or see the link below for alternate methods.

Once you are in device manager, then left click the plus sign next to network adapters.

Right click and select uninstall for your wireless driver. Just do not tick the box highlighted.

Then reboot the computer.

Looks like the wireless driver isn’t installed. What is the exact make and model of your computer? How were you connected before? Built in wireless card, or wireless usb dongle
