Help with a HP Z820 restarting

Hi, I have a HP Z820 workstation. I love it!
I use it mostly for Blu-ray & GFX projects.
I’ve never had a single problem with it until a couple weeks ago.
I was playing back a film I had encoded and the computer suddenly went into sleep mode and auto restarted and booted up to my login screen.
When I enetered my password it would start to boot to the home screen, but then would go black and restart again.
I’ve tried pressing F8 to boot into safe mode, But I haven’t had any luck. A couple of days ago I took the side panel and compartment covers off
and got rid of all the dust bunnies. I also pulled the power supply out and cleaned the fans.
When I put all everything back in place and restarted it booted and took my password.
When I tested to see if I could do a video encode..Typically taking about 2 hours,
It did one pass and then went into sleep mode and restarted, just like before.
And when I resrt it’s just like before.
I’ve searched some PC forums and it seems like the power supply may be the culprit.
I’m going to take the power supply out and then re-seat it again and see if it does the same thing.
Any thoughts, suggestions..or like experiences would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hello Digbird1,

Could be a power or overheating problem but then again it could be an issue with Windows.

Being that Windows 7 is no longer supported can I ask why you have not yet upgraded to Windows 10 for free.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

I am worried my Blu-ray encoding & authoring software are not compatable with Winsows 10..I would need to confirm that before even thinking about a windows upgrade. I wasn’t asking for a tutorial on upgrading Windows.

Not seeing anywhere in my reply that one was suggested but excuse me for asking in any event

        Good luck with it.
