Dual boot Win 7pro & Linux Tumbleweed

I have 2 systems on my PC ,( Lenovo ThinkCenter desk top, HDD 260Go. ) Windows 7 & Linux…
I had a live usb stick 64GB with “Linux Tumbleweed” on it… So, by mistake when booting on to the stick I messed up something and linux went on to my hard disk :cautious: !!
I have looked and looked on the net for info (there’s loads that say do this & do that !!) Some say sort out the “grub” first and then erase the linux partition & expande system (C NTFS… I’ll give you a disk management photo… Wow !! It’s a bit big … Linux is 35Go+2Go & the 2 NTFS is Windows 7… If I turn on the PC and let it start alone it opens up on to Linux… BUT… I cant use or open it because I lost the password !! Silly I know !! ( I do put important things in safe places but sometimes it takes me months to find !! ) Linux is first on the “grub” page & I have to scroll down & click on Windows :unsure:

Can aynone help ? Easy & the right help, please ? :unsure: P.S. The attch photo file is in French… I live here [53 years now]

sorry guys, I’ll tag out of this one.
I can’t remember the last time I setup a dual boot system, but I do remember I hardly ever got it right the first time. usually had to reinstall the original OS again to get the 2 OS’s playing nice.

at one point it was simply easier to have a PC for each OS I was into.

these days I don’t even bother since discovering how easy and free it is to use Virtual Machines.

so while I’ve “been there, done that” I won’t be able to add anything new that your Googling probably hasn’t already suggested.

all I’ll add is, for me, get any data saved that resides in the Lunix OS, then I’d forget dual booting and use either Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare WorkStation.

Back up any important data on the drive as a precaution then use the diskpart commands in Windows 7 to delete the accidental “Linux Tumbleweed” partition.

Not sure what “more info” it is that you are looking for tbh, the diskpart info is there if you wish to use it or not, whatever you decide, good luck.
