Blue screen + hard drive not detected

Hey guys,

I built this computer 5 years ago and from the start I randomly blue screen, seemingly for no reason. Sometimes I will be gaming, sometimes I will have just rebooted and anywhere in between. Recently I started using my computer again and I’m having the same issue, only now when I reboot sometimes my hard drive isn’t detected. I replaced my SATA cable and it still happens. Sometimes if I restart it will be detected, other times I have to unplug and re-plug the SATA cable.

I also am unable to upgrade to windows 10 but I think that’s likely unrelated.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1

Intel(R) Coreâ„¢ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz
Memory (RAM)
16.0 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
64-bit operating system
This is the error information I have collected after logging back in.

Hello Dank,

I suspect that you have more than one issue going on here with both hardware and software being involved.
1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the Attach button, bottom left of the dialogue input box

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Thank you for your reply,

After a lot of hard work on both my part as well as a Microsoft Support Agent, we were able to get me upgraded to windows 10. I did keep my old files so if it is still relevant I can still get that information for you.

Does me now being on windows 10 change things?
