Not able to create system restore point

When i go to the System Properties box, all of the option buttons are gray and unclickable. I want to create a system restore point, but i cannot. A while back I tried to conduct a system restore and it failed. I have not been back to the System Properties box since. Could Kaspersky be blocking this as well? Thank you for any advice.

what are you trying to achieve with Restore Points?
I’m just checking that you don’t think they are a backup option of your files.
they are purely for system files and only a small subset at that. simply designed to allow the PC to rollback to a point in time before an update that stopped the PC from starting or causing BSOD and the like.

and when the day comes where you did want to use them, 8 times out of 10 the little buggers don’t even work or didn’t have the particular data needed to help. in my experience, they are pointless enough that I disable by default and rely on my backup process to provide that sort of solution.
    just my 2 cents…

Have a read of this, and Kaspersky should no interfere with restore points.

To protect your computer well, you can turn on System Restore in Windows 7. Besides, you can create an image backup to get supplementary protection for your computer.

Not yet, I am overwhelmed with many things I have to do and have not gotten to this yet. I appreciate all the advice.
