    Please help Netgear support

So I called Netgear support on my Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB adapter.

My issue is ever since I installed this ( Wich is working better than I could possibly imagine ) When I start Windows 7 it takes literally 2 minutes for my availible wifi networks to show. I can’t even click the wifi icon for 2 minutes. Before when using a different network adapter and starting windows it would connect to wifi wintihin seconds.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue? Once it shows I can connect and everything is fine but it’s that 2 minutes that it takes to even show the networks is crazy.

You did uninstall the previous USB adapter drivers and software prior to installing the new one and did install the new driver and software for the new one.

It may be trying to find the old one before getting to the new one. Have you tried different USB ports?

Have you tried uninstalling the current one and then reinstalling it again (software and drivers).

Actually I didn’t uninstall the old one first O.O but my old USB wifi stick isn’t showing up in the device section.

So You sent me on the right path ( thank you ) I uninstalled my old TP link via uninstall a program. I also uninstalled Nighthawk and reinstalled. My pc seems to connect to the internet much faster but I think it’s the actual network and sharing center that’s having trouble. I get internet connection right away but for like a minute after I can’t access the sharing center and the icon even has that computer screen thing like it’s not connected ( can’t find connection )but it is. It’s very strange but I can deal with that since my connection starts up much faster.
