    Strange behavior

I have an Asus laptop with win 7 in my bedroom. Recently, not only does it wake up from hibernation mode instead of sleep mode which I put it in but in the middle of the night, it spontaneously wakes up (with no contact whatsoever) for about 30 seconds then goes back to sleep. Other than “bad dreams” what could cause this? Thanks.

    Hello

Sorry for the late reply.. Win 7 seems to have an issue with graphic drivers which in part works with the wake up part on these pc’s. I even have issue’s with mine. To my knowledge Microsoft never addressed this issue.

Thanks for the reply. The thing is that this is only a very recent development. I’ve had this machine for about 3 years but have never had this problem before about a week ago.

Usually caused by the system running some type of check. Disk Optimization some times is set to run at 2 am.

Does it seen to do this at and or about the same time? Check the logs to see what is running and the Task Manager see what is set to go off at said time.

No type of check or disk optimization is set at all. It happens at random times. Never the same time. Task Manager is not set to do anything.

Check the setting for windows update. See of there is a time set for that to go off.

This just started happening just after you did update for windows?
