help. drivers messed up. USB devices not working, SATA drives not showing

having issues with USB and internal SATA drives and USB,
I have 4 sata drives, but only 2 are showing.
At first all 4 were showing but than windows tried automatically installing some driver and now 2 drives disappeared!!
Also under device manager there are about 30 items as ‘unknown device’ under ‘other devices’ and under ‘universal serial bus controller’ about 15 items.
I went and uninstalled all unknown devices one by one and under Jan install all except except 'usb host controllers" , restarted windows and all these are back now I’m devices manager…

So I have mouse working thru ps/2 port.
But USB keyboard isn’t working,
None of the USB devices are working,
And just 2 out of 4 sata drives show up.

please help how to make all SATS drives to show and USB to work.

Hi there @vad777 and welcome to PCHF

Did you try doing a System Restore to before the update to see if it restores everything back to normal?

Go into Device Manager and see if there are any issues being reported there.

my first priority right now is to get all 4 internal SATA drives to show up.

I have 4 sata drives, but only 1 is showing now after re0installing drivers trying to make them show.
At first all 4 were showing but than windows tried automatically installing some driver and now 2 drives disappeared!!
and after I re-installed drivers only main system drive is showing.

But USB keyboard isn’t working,
None of the USB drives are working,
And just 1 out of 4 sata drives show up.

I did power cycle already like 6 times… no luck

many “unknown” devices have yellow tangles.

also I cant restore to previous windows, about 2 moths ago had a nasty virus and messed up and disabled my system restore

the SATA drives are all internal not external USB

after rebooting, windows automatically does some driver install or something and 2 of the drives disappear..

Also uninstalled all “unknown devices” one by one and all USB drivers one device manager.

Rebooted, still same issue.

How come I can’t uninstall all USB and internal storage drivers and just reinstall them ?
Why is all this happening ?

When right clicking on unknown devices or devices with triangle, it shows
Driver provider: unknown,
Device type: other devices,
Manufacturer: unknown,

Only under details there are lots of hardware IDs:

ACPI\PNP0700,

Storage\Volume,

Storage\Volume,

HID\VID_05AC&PID_024F&REV_0074&MI_00,

Storage\Volume,

Do you have any system backups you can restore from?

If you do not have any backup then I would also suggest that you go to the manufactures site for the computer if it is a prefabricated or the motherboards and get the drivers starting with the ChipSet.

Could also try running System File Checker

Are all of the drives showing in BIOS?
