Like the title says. My mother bought her a new pc. So she gave me her old one so I can give it to my son for his school or kid games. But she has so many things on it that it runs really slow. I have uninstalled all that I could. So is there a way I can restore it to like it was when it was first bought? I have a windows vista disk. That’s all.
Thanks.
If it is Windows 10, go to Settings, Update & Security, Recovery.
Under Reset this PC, click Get Started.
Pretty sure the last time I did this that it didn’t require a CD. (but it’s been awhile, I normally just use the saved ISO on a USB stick)
Is the computer presently running Windows 7 or Vista.
What is the brand and model name or number of the computer.
Are you able to connect the computer to the internet.
It depends on the answers to the above questions as to what your best options may be, we may for example be able to help you free up space on the hard drive by getting rid of unused programs etc, this will help speed things up a bit, adding more RAM is often the least expensive way of improving a computers performance, we have asked for the computer info so we can check the specs and any possible upgrade path.
Another possibility, and I see you are using Windows 7 by your thread title. Does your computer have a recovery partition. If you look in disk management it should show you?
