Please run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.

Please download the FRST 32 bit or FRST 64bit version to suit your operating system. It is important FRST is downloaded to your desktop.

If you are unsure if your operating system is 32 or 64 Bit please go HERE.

    [ul]
[li]Right-click on FRST icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.[/li](XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
[li]Make sure that Addition option is checked, as well as Shortcut.txt[/li][li]Press Scan button and wait.[/li][li]The tool will produce three logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt, and Addition.txt – & Shortcut.txt[/li][/ul]
Please Copy & Paste them into your next reply. But attach Shortcut.txt

Uninstall McaFee with Geek Uninstaller, then run the Removal Tool. Reboot the machine, install service pack one for windows 7x64

Reboot the machine once more, then let me know if the issue is resolved.

You can re install Mcafee later, you will be safe to remove it for a short time. Your OS is also outdated, so you will need to update it to service pack one.

Sometimes an antivirus can cause all sorts of issues, especially AVG, Norton, and Mcafee. Removing it and making sure everything else is stable will open the door to solving your issue.

Is there anything you can move to another drive? You certainly to to update, before we do anything else.

Hi Abhishek. What size of hard drive do you have installed in the computer?

Please follow steps 2-5 in my optimizing Windows 7 guide as described here which will free up some disk space on your machine, How to optimize Windows 7.

Then run through step 14 which describes the process for running Check Disk on your computers hard drive.

Once the Check Disk process completes, let me know how the computer is running.

Also, you might try creating a new admin profile on your machine and see if the issue persist on the new profile.

My hard drive is of 160 GB but the root drive of the hard disk isn’t a big part. I tried optimizing windows with the link you provided and My computer is working fine but i am just afraid why the windows is showing those folders as shortcuts, i tried making a new admin account but the users folder were not even having the important folder like application data weren’t there, i did try using show hidden files but it didn’t help, there were not any folders with shortcuts though .
