    Printer offline

I have a Windows 7 laptop with a network attached Printer. I know there is a common problem in the printer spool and the printer offline being selected. However, this is not the case. Actually, after I restart the computer and then select printer offline, then the printer somehow comes online. Then I un-select printer offline, and the printer is now able to print.

I have reserved an IP for the printer, so no matter what(unless the router gets reset by pushing the reset button) the printer will always have the same IP. I looked up the problem with the printer being in offline mode, but that was not the case. I am not sure why the printer is offline when the computer restarts.

I tested other computers to see if the printer was listed as offline, and the printer works perfectly fine.

Hi. Is your “Print Spooler” set to automatic in “Services.”?

Print “Services.msc” in the search box, then on “Services” up the top.
Scroll down to “Print Spooler” and make sure it is set to “Automatic”

You can also run this tool, and select default. This tool will make sure all services that pertain to printing are running.
