Photos have additional icons

My dad plugged his friends phone into his PC (Windows 7 Home Premium) to download a video (One his friend had made) and now all the photos in the Picture folder have 2 additional icons, one of which seems to have a cog.
Can anyone advise what this might be and how I can return it to normal for him?

Hi pcpaul. Can you post a screenshot of what the icons look like? If you double click on a photo does it open normally on the computer?

It would seem he somehow changed the folder view to show hidden files and folders and show system files. I’ve now corrected it.
