Hi @ZenDragon and welcome to PCHF

Does your motherboard use UEFI for the boot? If so, Windows 7 will not boot in any way, shape, or form. It must be booted via Legacy boot.

ive tried booting in each possible setting (UEFI/Legacy) variant .. for the ‘Launch video OpROM Policy’ if I have it set to UEFI it comes up black screen after the F2-F11 pprompt… if I have it set to Legacy, it says “select proper boot device”

You say you have the ISO on USB. Is the USB device bootable?
How did you create the stick?

Note: I have never succeeded in booting Windows from USB even though I have created more than 2 dozen bootable linux USB sticks.

it is bootable… actually, the first time it was made using Rufus by a tech from Microsoft. the system i built doesnt have an optical drive, but i had wired one in, though it wasn’t reading… I thought the issue was the DVD drive so I was talking to Microsoft and he reccommended the usb boot and ppulled an ISO for me and loaded it on my USB. I was reading later on about NTFS and Fat32 and I didn’t remember which he had used, so I went through the pprocess a second time using the command prompt method instead. the Usb works on this machine but when I select it on the UEFI bios I get a black screen .. secure boot is disabled .. bios reads both my SSD and the USB along with the USB partition.. Ive tried setting the partition as 1st boot opption as well… same result..

Jmarket- what do you mean it has to be from legacy boot? i can set the opption for legacy? also, is there a way that I could wire my SSD into this computer im using, put windows on it, then reconnect it to my build and start it up that way?
