using flash drive in win 7

Not sure this is the right place or not..but need to know if using a flash drive to speed up your computer will only do it if you are low on RAM ? Or it will always speed it up..

    Thanks;

The answer is no, it will not speed up your system. In fact it is most of the time better to disable super fetch. If your machine is running slow, then I would be happy to help you get it going faster.

Flash drives are storage devices and have no other influence over a machine. Thus as Mal has said the answer is no.

        ok.thanks to you both…
The slowness comes and goes…as does the refresh web page pop up… and like today nothing would load..just hung up..tried task master and it wouldn’t load..tried to reboot.. had to force the shutdown…rebooted and working ok..
Have cleaned out junk files and programs I wasn’t using and ran what diagnostics I could…shows nothing wrong…but every once in awhile acts crazy with the slow down..
        Would appreciate any advice..
        Thanks..

thanks for the help..but all kinds of problems..
1-Speccy..get old popup about verification IE5\G2JQRX6H\spsetup130.exe
2-minitoolbox..`the publisher of mimitoolbox could not verify..run anyway..yes..it disappears..
3-autorun..this downloaded..put it on desktop..ran it and a black box popped up and you could see it run..but as soon as it finished it disappeared..did not see a file>>>save..
            4-hijack..same popup as mimitoolbox..no verification..
            5-adware..same popup as serccy
            6-jtr..same as serccy
            7-reset host file..same as mimitoolbox..
If this thing wasn’t so new I would be heading to Best Buy or some place..
One more question..if we can get these things to work…do I send each one separately or is there a way to send them all at once ? This all greek to me as a real 75 yr old novice…thanks for your patience..

Try and run these tools in safe mode with networking.

ok..did a some clean up on files etc..driver and program updates…removed a couple of old programs…
The loading issue seems to be fixed..the only thing I get now ever once in a while is “web page not responding” click on that and everything is ok..
My question is since I am using FIREFOX as my browser now ( was IE11) why does IE come up as not responding when I am on a site ? Only happens once in a while..
Hopefully this took are of my slow issues..because when I went to SAFE MODE (the first time I have done it) I was completely lost as to how to do all the things you wanted me to do..don’t see how I can without E-mail…
Really appreciate the help from you and the PCHF community..
Lets see how this goes for awhile and if any more problems will give you a holler..
                    Thanks;hefs

                          Reset IE to default.
Then see if you can download and run the programs listed in this post with it.

sorry, I confused you…I want to keep FF as my default browser..what I meant is that every once in a while IE not responding pop up shows up when I am on a web page and I am on FF browser?
                            thanks,

Does this happen on certain web site(s)?
Have you set Firefox to check and make sure it is the default Browser?
Are you using the latest version of Firefox?
Could you post a screen shot?
                              Have you reset Firefox?
