    BSOD Watchdog threat

Been having this issue for about 3 weeks now. Ran AVG, Malware bytes, CCleaner, Avast, and spybot and the BSOD keeps happening. Can’t use the internet on the computer or run certain programs without the BSOD coming back on. Did a system restore also and didn’t fix the problem. Here is the information about the computer:
    Windows 8.1
Processor: AMD a8-5500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.20 GHz
    RAM: 8GB
System type 64-bit OS x64 based processor
Its a HP Desktop computer. Not sure of when it was purchased or how old it is, since it was a gift.

Note: The computer I am using now isn’t the one with the problem. I had to use this one to post on the forum due to repeated BSOD crashes.

in my experience, Watchdog issues are AVG related.
use their removal tool and completely uninstall AVG.
then see if the problem persists.

      Welcome to PCHF SNSabatel87,

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

Having more than one AV installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

Strongly suggest you remove Spybot as well.
