Thanks, but… Plugging it in to the modem was about my first thought to finding a fix. As mentioned, can’t plug it into the modem! Computer doesn’t have ethernet(like big phone line) port. Modem only has ethernet ports for LAN. Apparently computer needs a dongle, which I don’t got. Ordered one off ebay… Currently searching house for a male/male USB lead, to see if I can plug it in that way, but this has not been forthcoming either! Attached are pics of the connections I have on my computer, as previously described… probably insufficiently.
No network connections! Error 651

Right, in scouring the house for appropriate cables(the USB to router didn’t work BTW), I came across a very old USB wireless adapter(about 1/8 size of whole laptop!) but it works!! I can now at least get onto the internet on the d**n machine! Hopefully that will make it easier to sort out.Comment

Why on earth that had to be so difficult?!?! But thank Dog for PCHF, YAY for Snappy Driver installer - & why do other driver programs do NOTHING?? Thanks so much again Malnutrition! Now my daughter won’t have to take her computer to school with a clunky old dongle hanging off it!
