    Cant boot usb

Hello. I have asus t100ta with win 8. I installed on this device android GNU GRUB 2.02 beta2.
Android had a very small storage, only 175 MB. When I restart device it display me Grub menu with only android booting option. Maybe I damaged section with windows. But when I insert bootable usb with windows 8 into asus transformer t100ta and enter bios, disable secure boot, change boot priority, save and exit, it display me again Grub menu with only android booting option. So how can I reinstall windows 8.

    Hi Vent

Do you have a Windows 8 Disc available? If not you can get a Windows 8/8.1 ISO image and burn it to a DVD/USB thumb drive

You shouldn’t need to reinstall, as it’s likely just the boot priority that’s the problem. Using bcedit you should be able to fix it. If the usb isn’t booting, does it work on another pc? As if its going to grub the usb isn’t booting. Do you have a recovery partition? Most ASUS machines have one. If you have killed the hot key, you can set recovery to active so it boots straight to it.

I tried to boot usb with win 8.1 on another PC and it works so problem is not in usb I think. And how can I find out if I have a recovery partition?

When you did this install you may have told it to over write the information on the HDD. Meaning that what ever was on the HDD is now gone.

Does it load? If so then load it and see if you can see the files on the HDD.

When I load android I can see only files from android partition. But when I load bios and enter start easy flash, there I can upgrade bios I see there all files from all partitions and all windows files are there too so they are maybe OK. So I can’t boot windows and usb too.

If you can create a bootable drive with this tool. See if there is a partition called recovery, or something similar.

Can I boot USB via grub? Because when I enter grub command line and write : set root=(hd and then I press TAB I see hd0 and hd1. hd0 is USB partition so can I boot USB via Grub? Or can I uninstall Grub via other PC when I connect they with USB cable?

Go in to BIOS and make sure secure boot is turned off.
While in there check to see if the USB is set to first boot.
Save and Exit power off the system.
Insert the USB windows 8 drive into asus transformer t100ta and power on the system
                  What happens?
Do you get any error messages? If so what do they say (as close to as you can remember)?

Have you preformed a BIOS reset and then tried to boot to the USB drive?

I have no new information. Problem persists, as I described it, nothing helps.
