    Iphone i found this online.

    Might be better to wait.

iPhone/iPad on iOS 17+ with USB-C Only USB-C models let you power and write to most external drives without special adapters.
External SSD or thumb-drive Prefer one that draws < 4.5 W so the phone can power it directly.
USB-Cโ†”USB-C cable or Apple USB-C Digital AV / USB-Cโ€“toโ€“USB-A adapter Physical connection; a powered hub is optional but helpful for hungry SSDs.
โ‰ฅ 8 GB free on the phone Temporarily stores the ISO while you copy.
ISO image Download from distro site or save from iCloud/Dropbox.
Windows PC with Rufus or Ventoy Thatโ€™s where youโ€™ll make the drive bootable.

With iPhone and a computer, transfer files using an external storage device, a file server, or a cloud storage service like iCloud, Box, or Dropbox.

Okay yes I think its best I wait too, it looks a bit complicated. Did you see what I wrote about the lenovoโ€™s built in diagnostics? I would really like to try access this but I canโ€™t find the menu or the shortcut and I am unsure if my model has it even

Storage test passes โ€“> corruption is likely. When you have a USB handy, boot a Windows-11 installer, choose Repair your computer - Startup Repair (non-destructive) or copy data off with a Linux live stick and perform a clean install.

Storage test fails / drive not detected at all โ€“ the SSD or eMMC itself is faulty. At only six months old it qualifies for a Lenovo warranty replacement; open a service ticket and quote the diagnostic code.

This is what I mean though, when I go to the windows recovery menu there is no option to do storage tests, I canโ€™t even do a diagnostics test as those never come up when I follow the instructions. Does this imply something about the state of my problem if I donโ€™t even get the diagnostics menu to appear?

Or is there some way I can run the diagnostics manually through command prompt? Thatโ€™s basically the only option that comes up that can do anything on the windows recovery menu but i wouldnโ€™t know how to use it to do anything

Important: If pressing F10 (or Fn+F10) doesnโ€™t show a diagnostics menu, it doesnโ€™t mean your drive is broken.

Your Lenovo Slim 14AST-05 likely has a โ€œLite BIOSโ€ version that doesnโ€™t include built-in diagnostics to save space. This is normal for your model.
How to Check if Your Drive is Still Working
Step 1: Open Command Prompt in Recovery Mode
                      Code:
Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
                      Select Troubleshoot
                      Select Command Prompt
Step 2: Check if Your Drive is Detected

                      Try Method A first:
                      Code:
Type this command and press Enter:
                      Or use Method B:
                      Code:
Type these commands one at a time:
What to look for: If you see your Samsung MZAL8512HDLU drive listed, thatโ€™s good news! It means the drive is still detected and the problem is likely just corrupted files, not hardware failure.
Step 3: Try to Fix the Drive (If It Was Detected)

While still in Command Prompt, run these repair commands:
                      Code:
First command (checks and fixes disk errors):
Important: If these commands complete without showing โ€œcannot open volumeโ€ errors, thatโ€™s a good sign!
                      Step 4: Restart Your Computer

After the commands finish, restart your computer and see if it boots normally.
Amazing! This is totally what I was after! My results are a bit confusing though, Iโ€™ve actually attached some pictures below as I assume itโ€™s easier but it seems to detect the SSD but says its size is 0? When I run the /scannow it says that itโ€™s found corrupt files and fixed them but when I shutdown my PC and start it back up nothing actually changes, and every time I do scannow the same thing happens, it says its found corrupt files and fixed them. When I do the chkdsk command though it does show up with a volume error. Can you make any sense of these results or why it says that itโ€™s fixing the corrupted files but is seemingly not actually doing that? Is there some special way I have to restart the laptop to get them to take effect?
