Problem in importing YT videos into Premiere

Frequently I download videos from YouTube (Either my own or sometimes others) these I put into my Premiere CS6 editing programme to make a compilation video.

A few days ago I did the same with 13 videos and placed them into a folder where they showed up as usual.

However, when I went to place the videos into Premiere only 5 videos showed in the folder and these imported with no problem.

Closing Premiere and going back to view the folder, all 13 videos showed as normal. All this I have tried several times. I then tried putting all 13 videos onto the Desktop where they show and each can be played as expected. Once again I tried importing into Premiere to no avail Only 5 would import and no others showed on the desktop.

Any ideas will be welcome. I’m on Win 10.

    Thanks. Pete

Is it a copyright thing maybe?

Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t think this is the answer especially as many of the videos from YT are of my own creation. Thanks again. Pete

Do you have the latest update for Win10, and for Premier (if there is one)?

Have you tested just trying to import the content you have created to verify the copyright possibility?

Thanks for your reply. I have now just discovered the problem. My own fault of course. The 5 files that came into Premiere were MP4 . Now noticed that all the others downloaded as MKV FILES.. My PREMIERE Prog wont import these as I discovered. I am now converting these MKV files to MP4 and I know these will now import. I don’t know how I managed to download and import as MKV but all my own fault as always.
          Thanks again for replying. Pete.
