USB Card Reader is not showing up in File Explorer or Device Manager. I tried everything in the video below including updating drivers in USB Controllers in Device Manager (Generic USB Hub and USB Host Controller) and they were already up to date and then uninstalling them and rebooting Windows 10, changing USB Settings in Control Panel Power Options, updating Windows 10 (which was up to date), troubleshooting Hardware and Devices (and found no problems), tried Card Reader in different USB ports, restoring folder options in File Explorer all with no luck at all. I read an article on checking USB Ports in BIOS but canβt seem to find that article now.
What else can I try?
Maybe my USB Card Reader is bad?
Couldnβt find a card reader today at walmart or staples and no Best Buy near me. I canβt travel far cause been very sick last 8 mths. Thereβs Best Buy 10 mi in DE but donβt know if I can make the drive. Needed the card reader asap to email some photos. When my card reader is plugged into USB ports it lights up indicating itβs working but doesnβt show up in File Explorer or Device Manager. And I tried 2 different Compact Flash cards in the reader with no luck.
@cool09 - what is it you are trying to do, get files off the card reader so you can email them?
To at least get you over this hurdle, do you know of anyone else with a CF card reader that can get the files off your card?
Does this CF card come out of a camera, if so, leave the card in the camera and try plugging the camera straight into your PC USB ports - does that work?
