PC doesn't POST every now and then

    Hiya!
I have a problem where my PC sometimes doesnโ€™t POST. It starts to run but the peripherals donโ€™t glow nor does the PC beep. I have a custom-built system. Recently Iโ€™ve upgraded from 1070 GTX to 3060 RTG with a new CPU and motherboard too.

I suspect the reason for occasional POST fails is the lack of power. Maybe my Power Supply is not strong enough?
Would like to evaluate and solve the issue.

    Thanks in advance!

We need your PCโ€™s specs and the make model and power rating of the PSU please.

Was it working at all with the RTX 3060?

Itโ€™s an occasional problem where the PC doesnโ€™t POST. Mostly, it starts up fine, though it almost seems like it lacks the energy because it may have quite rare screen glitches.

Same problems with the 1070? If you have access to a PSU, a friend, or a family member, and it is a bit more powerful and known to be in working order, try it to test.

Didnโ€™t have that issue prior installing the 3060. Ill figure out how to access it.

Couldnโ€™t figure out how to access it. Is there as software I can use to see PSU details? If itโ€™s enough for my PC?

No software can list the PSU specs, youโ€™ll need to remove the side cover of the other PC you are checking and look for the sticker on the PSU, youโ€™ll find there that it will show the make/model and wattage.

Your current EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2, 80+ GOLD 550W is a solid choice but just adequate for the RTX3060, see here - https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/...ly-do-you-need

Seems like it has bare minimum power. Maybe thatโ€™s why itโ€™s not fully stable. Thanks. Iโ€™ll think about upgrading my power supply.

Since this all started when the RTX3060 was install, the PSU would certainly be the first thing Iโ€™d be looking at upgrading. (y)
