Help in How to Preventing Windows Auto Connect to my WI FI

Hello again. I use my new Dell with Windows 10 Pro for offline work only. I turned off Wi Fi but Windows still gets through. The latest was where it did a scan and indicated it had done it a total of four times.

I go online then into network settingsโ€ฆchange adapter settings but when I double click the Wi Fi, then to properties, connect automatically when in range is unchecked. How in blazes are they getting through? How can I stop Windows from turning on my WiFi for them? Might this be a firewall issue?

    Thank you.

If you uninstall the wireless adapter drive, itโ€™ll just reinstall at next boot, so that wouldnโ€™t be an option.
But if you disable the adapter, it should stay disabled, so give that a try.

Another method is to bring up the list of wireless networks by clicking the wifi icon in the system tray, then right click your network and tell it to forget.
It canโ€™t join a network it does know the password for. (y)
