At least the boot drive should be replaced, the others will be up to you.

The boot drive is the drive that Windows files are stored in?
My PC has been working fine the last few weeks.
My hard drive is divided into 3 sectors (C), (B) and (F). Right now on B: Drive 13GB is free of 221GB, F: Drive 12GB is free of 244GB and C: Drive 25GB is free of 465GB. I have a lot of data on my disk. I hate reinstalling Windows because I’m afraid I’m going to lose my data. I don’t know how to backup my data.
My hard drive is Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500GB (that’s what System Information tells me).
My brother told me that there is software to copy data from an SSD drive. (All the drives I’ve had before on my PC’s were HDD.)
I guess chkdsk can’t repair my C: Drive because Stage 4 won’t complete? I ran chkdsk from Startup. Guess I don’t have many options, do I?
Thanks for all the great info you guys have given me! I really appreciate it!
(I’ve been extremely sick the last 6 mths and I haven’t had the strength to get onto my PC lately. I can’t function at all. And doctors aren’t helping me one bit - they are ignoring me. I’ve been fed up with medication and doctors the last 35 years. I’ve been sick a very, very long time. Been on disability 20 years and have had ECT 5 times since 1992 with no relief. Tried to kill myself twice.)
    Enough complaining…

Thank you, I’ll check back tomorrow.
    Rob

Not many options no - plus, better safe than sorry.
      Backup while the sun shines!

And Yes, boot drive is your C:\ drive (which in your case contains those other partitions).

Get an external USB drive and simply copy/paste your personal data over to the USB drive.
Usual folders are; Docs, Pictures, Videos, Music, Desktop, Downloads.
Other considerations are any private stash of files you have squirreled away, your browser bookmarks (these can be exported), and emails if you have PC based POP3 accounts.
Don’t forget, your safety net is the old drive gets removed and the new drive installed - so if you realise something hasn’t been backed up, it’ll still be on the old drive. It’s just that the old drive is showing many faults and failure could be imminent.

Software you reload from web downloads, or original installation CD’s.

Moving forward, see my signature for some good backup software or use cloud storage like Dropbox or OneDrive.

      Hope the health improves (y)

I have an Orico docking station which works great and about 5 external drives I’ve saved mp4 files to over the last 5 years.
I haven’t done anything yet. I don’t have the energy at all. When I get the strength I’ll start to do something but not having any problems with my PC lately.
How come the first time I ran chkdsk Event Viewer told me chkdsk was aborted due to self-healing/memory usage? I don’t have anything using a lot of memory but I do have lack of disk space on C:drive. Then I ran it a week later and all stages ran except for Stage 4.

Your low free space on all drives is one issue.
CHKDSK not completing is another and usually a sign of errors on the disk.
At the very least, I’d be making sure I have all my important data backed up in case the drive goes pear-shaped.
And if mine, I’d be prioritising replacing the drive at my earliest opportunity.

I should replace the drive, too? I can’t just reinstall Windows? The drive is damaged?

From what you have said regarding all the CHKDSK errors, then yes, my educated guess is the drive is to blame.
While you could reload Windows, and that would solve any file corruption caused by bad areas on the disk, it doesn’t solve the fundamental issue if it is the disk at fault.
So certainly try a fresh install of Windows.
You should still be backing up your data regardless.

Once a drive even hints at something bad, I replace it. If you don’t have 100% faith in them, why trust your data on them. They are cheap enough to replace on a whim these days.
All storage mediums will die eventually, and that’s why we backup, to cover those unforeseen, out of the blue issues that we can’t predict.
But in this case, we have been given a red flag that, if mine, I would be treating as a sign to say goodbye to the old, and in with the new.
