Windows 10 Bitlocker SSD not working

Hi all! My bitlocker stop working. The windows start restore process, but it stuck every time. I have enter password to decrypt SSD, but it’s stuck on 45% for whole day. The SSD is Sabrent Rocket 2 TB Sabrent Rocket NVMe 4.0 2Tb NVMe Specs, Price, TBW and Review and looking to official site, there is no restore software for it.

My thoughts is to clone the SSD on new drive and try to decrypt all again. Is it worst to try? I have no backups, :cry: so I don’t know how to save data on drive.

Have you tried turning Bitlocker off, that process will decrypt the drive as well.

From an elevated command prompt, type this command; manage-bde -off c:

Long shot - try doing it with the PC booted into Safe Mode.
Also run some scans, try these from an elevated command prompt;
[ul]
[li]chkdsk c: /r[/li][li]sfc /scannow[/li][li]dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth[/li][li]dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase[/li][/ul]

I have checked disk chkdsk c: /r end get errors that not restored. Now I cloned the whole disk to other storage, and after that, on new SSD, Bitlocker decrypt whole disk. So the problem is solved. I don’t know, how to check all files is ok or not now. Any suggestions? chkdsk on new drive get no errors at all.

Is the β€˜dead’ SSD still under warranty?
If it’s a Samsung, I think most of their high-end range comes with 3-5 years.

Now you have everything over on the new SSD, format the old one and see if the errors go away.
But really, if a drive fails you once, why would you want to keep using it?

The Sabrent has 2 year warranty :cry: for unregistered SSD on its site. So I think warranty void I am looking for receipt at home to find exact date. But the problem that drive can have information, that I don’t want to share with 3rd parties. Did you know some software to make secure erase (like it on Samsung)?

Or, hit it repeatedly with a hammer, or dunk it in sea water, that sort of thing will do the job.
