PC - custom built, doesn't recognize cables after sleep

    Hello,

so I have just bought a custom built PC.

However, when the PC goes to sleep mode and wakes up, then:
    1. the ethernet cable doesn’t get recognized
    2. the monitors get re-registered again and re-arrange the apps to 1 screen only (1x HDMI to HDMI, 1x DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPort)
    3. bluetooth headphones connected via USB also don’t get recognized

Only mouse & keyboard are recognized.

If I restart the pc entirely(or turn off and on)
    1. when I change time from AM/PM to 24-hour clock, it changes it back to AM/PM
    2. it doesn’t remember language settings (keyboard)

There are probably some other issues that I don’t see because I don’t actively use them but I’m trying to understand if it’s Windows issue, bios, motherboard? What can be the cause? How can I fix this?

When I’m in “Device Manager” – the list keeps refreshing every few seconds, I don’t think that should be happening. This could be caused by USB being connected and disconnected.

In device manager, that’s where I fixed the ethernet. Device Manager > Network Adapters > Properties > Power Management >uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

However, I don’t want to fix it all 1 by 1, I want the basic things to be working.

    I appreciate any help.

Disconnect all usb connections one by one and check if issue still occurs.. Note if you have a usb keyboard the pc may not post..

Contact them the system is under warranty and some of the stuff we would have you do will void any warranty.

To answer your question, it is a testing phase to see if anything changes.

Since you do not want this sorry to inform you nothing it that way.

Could be anything to a conflict to a loose connection to short.

With out doing one to eliminate it as a possibility there no one fix fixes all.

No real tech would hazard to guess without running basic test to root cause the issue.

Ok, so I tried disconnecting all cables 1 by 1 (USBs, USB C, HDMI and Display Port)

None of them fixed the issue, the Device Manager keeps refreshing. I disconnected one, waited, it was refreshing, I connected it back, disconnected next one.

However, what I noticed is, that when I was unplugging some of the USBs, that the RGB lighting AND Fans inside the case of the pc, refreshed too.

Essentially, the liquid cooling goes up to 38 C and then fans turn on (automatically).

Fixed this issue by running Fortect.

The issue that remains is Windows not remembering me changing the time, calendar & language setup. Additionally, it doesn’t remember the monitors and the app arrangment.

Could this be an issue related to that? “CMOS battery”?

I think the issues are caused by “Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer” that’s on the motherboard ROG Maximum XII Formula.

CMOS batter could be bad and or fallen out.

Another thing to check sometimes during shipping and or moving the system around things come loose and reseating them fixes that.

This is the part like I state could void the warranty.

Delete the reference and if the system needs it will recreate in in the next restart.

Does this happen on a new login user account?

If the system in is Clean Boot does this happen?
