    Lost Hard drive

    Hello,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
So Approximately 4 days ago I lost an SSD hard drive which had windows 10 installed. The only security was the windows hello pin, the hard disk was not encrypted.
I’m aware there is a way to read the contents of the hard drive by using Linux and also other operating systems by seeing the files and folders and copying them.
I don’t really understand how using another laptop works that has windows as the OS by switching out the users hard drive and replacing it with my hard drive, I understand that the hard disk might not even fit in the β€œfinders” laptop, If it did I kind of get it that it might not boot correctly because of the different hardware used to boot my one and the hardware on the β€œfinders” laptop. (My laptop is about 4 years old)
If it does manage to update drivers and boot, would it go to the user ID details - Windows email & password to login or ask for the windows hello pin showing my name as user id to login or does it not ask for any information and go straight to the desk top where all my files and folders are. I have banking info on some folders with passwords (yes stupid I know) but I think I have managed to change passwords to protect them, I have also signed out of Gmail. So far I have had no alerts to say there is any suspicious activity rom banks or email alerts saying someone trying to sign in.
Is it possible for anyone to explain on how it would work trying to boot my hard drive in another laptop.
    Thanks

    Hello

That sdd has the setup for your old laptop and not the other laptop you are trying to use.. So basically it would be like setting up a new laptop. The sdd has info for the old laptop.

What do you mean by lost?

Yes, that is correct, and the SSD should be in the original system.

Not the Propper and or correct way should be using an SSD to USB connection.

That is correct why SSD to USB connection should be used.
