gโ€™day and welcome to the Forums.

if the laptop didnโ€™t come with Intelโ€™s RST already installed, what are you hoping to achieve by installing it?

I never install it on my builds, and when found already installed on other PCโ€™s, I remove it - never found a reason or benefit in running it.

itโ€™s main usage is if you have RAID drives, or Optane memory.
your rig needs to have SATA SSDโ€™s (more than one), as it doesnโ€™t work with HDDโ€™s or NVMe SSDโ€™s.

in short, unless you have multiple drives in the laptop and set them up in some sort of RAID, RST will do nothing for you. (y)
