    Windows/Microsoft password?

I am not a computer newbie, but I struggle with certain things. I have never bought a desktop pc from a store, always had mine built.
I liked the way Windows 7 worked so last week I had it upgraded to Windows 10. In all my years I have never been asked when I do a certain task to log in with my windows password or my microsoft password, that is totally new to me, so my question is. How on earth can I provide a password when I wasn’t even aware I had one or where such a thing might be hiding. Suggestions as to what I can do please.

Knowing what task would be helpful.

Got to the Settings menus and then Accounts.
On the right your username does it show Local Account.

Hi It has my first name at local account in settings and says log in. The only task I was trying at the time was my saved chrome passwords, which I only keep a few in there.

in the Accounts it has me down by Christian name and β€œlocal account administrator”, underneath it says β€œsign in with a microsoft account instead” which I don’t and have never had.

Provide as much information as possible without providing username and passwords. We cannot see what you see the more information that you provide the easier and faster this gets corrected.

That they are not there and or not working on all places or just certain one.

Are you having to reenter in the previous save passwords?

Have you checked to make sure that chrome is configured to save the information?
