Discord causing "boot loop" after a restart

My friend’s laptop (they don’t know the specs) has been stuck in a constant restarting loop after an hour of the computer loading in, then blue screening, and then trying to load it again. It happened after using Discord one night, eventually all their audio from other people in a voice call cut out, and they couldn’t be heard by others and they couldn’t hear anyone else. They went to restart their computer because they couldn’t get it to work again, and then the restarting loop happened. They’ve been at it for about 24 hours or so now and cannot find a solution. They have not booted into safe mode yet because they are nervous if it will screw up their computer settings, so they’ve resorted to several other things including using a hard drive to manually inject data onto their computer, but to no avail. Is there anything else we could do? They need their laptop for schooling purposes very badly.

This is what their screen looks like, minus the “Preparing Automatic Repair” part. (This isn’t a photo I got from them, just one of the screen that they have) How would you boot up into safe mode if that’s the option they go for?

Thank you very much in advanced.
