laptop goes to sleep then wont wake up unless hold power button to restart

my laptop goes to sleep then wont wake up unless I hold power button for 10 seconds to restart. Before I would press the power button or mouse and it would wake, now it just does nothing.

I tried everything here to fix it and no joy: Microsoft suggested fixes

Any ideas? And it’s my gf’s laptop and my gf blames me because I often leave the laptop on and running on battery, but the battery is fine and laptop power settings say sleep after 25 mins etc, it’s not a battery problem. If you could tell her if it’s my fault, that would help us stop arguing

Hi,

I would try Performing a clean boot in Windows and see if that solves the issue. Have you set the power plan in Windows to high performance? Is the computer running Windows 10?

My power settings are on balanced (recommended) and yes it is Windows 10. All my PC specs are here in the attached DXdiag.txt file.

There is no discreet GPU only Intel HD video so that is the correct setting.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The first thing I would try is turn off hibernation - Test
[HEADING=1]How to make hibernation unavailable[/HEADING]

[li]Press the Windows button on the keyboard to open Start menu or Start screen.[/li][li]Search for cmd. What is the make and model of the laptop?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Display drivers?

Go into the power setting and what is listed and checked under Shutdown Settings?

Have you tried a clean boot to see what may be causing the issue?

When you manually put the system to sleep and then wake it does the same happen?

Here is one issue that I see.

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:

Used Space: 50 GB (89%)
Free Space: 6.17 GB (11%)

Windows 10 requires 32 GB free space for updates 7-10 GB reserved for future proofing on the C drive.
