Thanks, still stressful. We shall see what happens. As mentioned, was hoping since the Room1 is used as WIFI and Room2 when things arrive would be hard-wired, they could be 2 separate setups and independent of each other. I will keep everyone posted and hope Rustys is correct. Thanks again for quick responses to you and all.

Hi Peter: Could you be more specific please about being on the same power circuit? Room 1 the current set up and room 2 are about 50 feet apart. I do not know if this means a yes but anytime there has been a power failure the lights/power go out the same time in Room 1 and Room 2. In fact, all parts of the house go out. Thanks.

Hi Peter: Is this good or bad about the power source? Thanks, and the second new equipment arrives will update. I hope Rustys idea and the 2 folks at Staples can come to fruition and let Room 1 and Room 2 have nothing to do with each other and make it a stress-free start to the job.

Hi Bruce: Thanks for checking in. Today July 7th the company sent the computer, mouse, keyboard, 2 monitors, and webcam but no router and or modem. I have not owned a desktop in about 15 years and it was interesting instead of the tower of the old days the computer part looked like a modem. We were told not to touch anything until the first day of work, but I thought I saw on the paperwork the computer has a built in ethernet. I am not sure I am correct on this. The supervisor emailed us that the rest of the equipment should be arriving by Saturday night. I will let everyone know. Thanks and enjoy the weekend!!!

sounds like what they call an All-in-One desktop PC.
the screen has the desktop built-in.
                    like the Macs do.

but yeah, follow their procedures, sounds like this isn’t their first rodeo and have things in hand.

                        Hi everyone:

Hope the weekend is going well. Finally, all the pieces have been shipped. Supervisor once again told me not to purchase any external equipment for a work around and see how the setup goes Monday. The Router is Aruba made by HP and the model number is 303HR. The computer as mentioned does not have an old-fashioned tower but what looks like the exact size of a modem Lenovo M70Q. I believe there was a piece of paper that mentioned "The Lenovo M70Q has built in ethernet (will not swear to this). Thanks and I will update Monday night when training is over (After 6:30 PM Eastern Time, USA).

                          Hi everyone:

Hope it was a great weekend.

Here is the latest. Job started today and was asked not to buy anything until things were setup and we punched out.

The I.T. and supervisor suggested to by a 100 foot ethernet cable from Staples. Place one end in Room 1 into the one remaining open port on the home router marked LAN. Then place the other in the work router. I will find out tomorrow if it is copasetic. I did see for a few seconds the phone system had lights and showed the Cisco trademark and the work router went from 1 green button to all 3 being lit. Please let it be the answer!!! Have a great Tuesday

you’re in their hands now, they’ll get it working.

Thank you Peter for all your help. The setup with the 100 foot ethernet cord in the Lan Router from Room 1 to Router Room 2 was what they had me go ahead with and it worked. Be well always!
