    BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO Error

    Hi

I’ve been struggling with this error for the past 6 hours straight.

Ive been getting this error after hitting shut down on my computer, then, like an idiot, not let it shut down completely before pulling out the power cord.

What on gods green earth can I do? I’ve followed what feels like every tutorial on the internet typing every single cmd command to ever exist.

I’ve also tried resetting windows from a usb, but I get a β€œthe computer started using an installation media” all the time.

Are there some clever people here to help?

g’day Voqoo and welcome to the forum.

usually that β€œthe computer started using an installation media” means it booted with the USB stick of Windows on it and started the install process, and during which, wants to reboot the PC, now still detects that stick and wants you to remove it so it can continue.

    have you tried that?

Yes, however I would like to keep my files so I want to fix the error head on, not reset windows hopefully.

Ok, if you are unsure what the re-install of Windows will do, remove the drive and backup your data.
either put your drive into another PC, or into an external enclosure and plug it into another PC.
then get your files secured away.

then you are free to reinstall from scratch, or a repair reinstall from the USB stick image.
