i updated my windows 10 yesterday and now when I open my pc the welcome screen is grey, when I try to enter my password i have limited time before it puts me back on the welkom screen. When I do login my whole screen is black, only the cursor visible. I am able to open up โctrl + alt + delโ but when choosing task manager my screen remains black. I tried to reset my pc but keep my personal files. Yet the issues remained. Not sure how to fix is as I am not able to get to the driver menu
I have seen something very similar recently, the problem was a corrupt DLL. However a reset should resolve any system file issues.
It may be worth running a memory diagnostic from the Windows Recovery Environment (holding the SHIFT key followed by Restart will allow you to access this).
try getting into the ASO menu (Advanced Startup Options) by starting the PC and has soon as you see the Windows splash screen, hold in the power button until the PC turns off.
repeat that a few times and eventually youโll see a message, something like, โPlease wait while we attempt repairsโ.
youโll then be presented with the ASO screen where you can try using Restore Points, or loading a system image if you ever created one, or resetting the PC - and since you have tried the โkeep dataโ method, this time try the โkeep nothingโ path.
of course youโll need to backup any personal files you want to keep.
