+1 for the in-place repair. I was going to suggest this myself.
Just download the media creation tool, run it & choose to upgrade/install. Ensure that keep everything is selected & continue with the installation/repair.

Welp, reinstalled the whole system while keeping my apps and all data

Found out the search bar isnโ€™t working properly (it wasnโ€™t working even before the reinstallation), it will find some apps but some not, when searching for e.g. MS store, Xbox, Edge, Notes, Word, Excell, PaintNet or even Conrol Panels, it wonโ€™t find anythingโ€ฆ (I know I must have Word since I can open docx documents with it and I can open Control Panels within the run program (win+r)โ€ฆ I donโ€™t understand

However I was able to open MS Store, (when you browse on the internet version of it and try to download something, it will ask if it can open the store and it opened and worked just fine), downloaded the Xbox app and the app crashed the same way it did beforeโ€ฆ
Tried downloading the Xbox app through normal installer and again, crashed on startup

Also canโ€™t open any png or jpeg file, when I do, a message pops-up (the one attached) (simple translation: System canโ€™t find file location Make sure the file name is correct and try again), tried renaming them, moving to another location, different drive, didnโ€™ work, using a different app to open the jpeg (like ms painting) worked just fine.. (this was happening before the reinstallation aswell)

Donโ€™t want to do factory settings but would it help if nothing else does?

So the png and jpeg file problem is solved, I had to set a different default app for openning photos, since the original photo viewer crashed on startupโ€ฆ

Have some updates, tried updating all the apps through the MS Store which resulted in the Store crashing after a while and ever since crashing on startup.
Tried logging on other user account and the search bar works just fine there aswell as the MS Store, however downloading the Xbox app on that account doesnโ€™t help at all, it just crashes on startupโ€ฆ

Ensure Windows is fully up to date after the reset.
Is there a reason why you didnโ€™t follow through on the in-place repair & went with a reset?

I must have misunderstood the assignment, I thought thatโ€™s what you were suggesting

I just figured out that I donโ€™t even know what I did in your terminology, I used the media creation tool, selected to keep all data, files, programs and installed the thing just like suggested in the video

                          that should have repaired Windows.
sounds like something else may be at play, like a failing drive, especially when all your App store stuff should have vanished when logged in under another account, as that stuff is User based, not Machine based. so the Registry may be corrupted.
                          letโ€™s redo these;
                          [ul]
                          [li]chkdsk /f[/li][li]sfc /scannow[/li][li]dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth[/li][li]dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase[/li][/ul]
while the sun shines, make sure you have a backup of all your personal stuff because the upcoming suggestions may be to do another repair but this time keeping nothing. same USB media, same process, but telling it not to keep stuff, and the first window offering choices during that process should allow you to manually delete all the current partitions - do that too!

but letโ€™s see if others have some suggestions first. (y)

Yes thatโ€™s the in-place repair. A reset is done from within Windows without the tool.

If that doesnโ€™t work then try the suggestion here:
Microsoft originally announced Windows 11’s new app store in June, and since then, the company has been trying to improve the quality of its marketplace. Several servicing updates have been released as part of the Windows Insider Program and users have been testing the new Store on their devices for more than three months now. […]

Once the store is installed then you should be able to reinstall the other apps.

If non of these work then most likely a clean install is required.
