    Microsoft apps crashing on startup

Whenever I try to launch Xbox app, Microsoft store or even Nvidia control panel, it crashes on startup, will probably be more Windows apps
What I was dealing with was that I had this issue in this Xbox app which required me to change my default safe location in Windows settings. When I did that it resolved in an error, which I fixed and probably did some unnecesarry stuff which lead to these current issues. Let me describe what I did for the safe location error which is most probably the reason why these apps aren’t working now. I tried deleting the WindowsApps folder on C: (my system drive), deleted most files there, some were left there since Windows kept saying that the files are opened by some program - this made the search icon and nvidia control panel icon dissapear from the Windows bar. Then I went to temp data folder and deleted all the files there. fixed the safe location issue however can’t open these apps now.
Official Microsoft support suggests to update Windows (did that without result) or fix this trough Microsoft Store -(can’t open that one since it crashes on startup).
    Any help greatly appreciated.

if you create another login user account and sign in under that new profile, does the App store work then?

Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:
      SFC /SCANNOW
      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Tried that on already existing accound, even created a new one and no, they don’t work there
In case this is helpful, when I tried searching for microsoft store on that account it only found β€œms-resource:StoreTitle”
Also when searching for these apps in the search bar no icons were showing

After doing the SFC SCANNOW this message appeared
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag

          Attaching the CBS.Log file
Those 2 other cleanups worked without problem, but still didn’t fix my problem

Once you have run the dism commands please re-run the sfc command & see if it can now repair the corruption.

So I did the sfc command, it said the same thing like before:
(Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at

Ran the dism commands, re-ran the sfc and it said this:
β€œWindows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations”

Restarted computer, did the sfc command once more and said again
β€œWindows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations”

                    Did not solve anything

Uninstalled Avira and Spy Emergency trough the Geek Unsintaller
Geek didn’t find the AVG Update helper so I uninstalled the AVG through the removal tool you linked
Restarted computer and nothing happed, issues still here

Did that, however the microsoft store dissapeared completly aswell as other Windows apps like the default photo viewer, xbox, audio console, notes, even the Control Panel is gone
Was that meant to happen? If so, is there a way you can get all the default Windows apps in some sort of package?

I’ve never seen the tool do that.

This tool should be able to restore default apps.

If not then are the apps still available on a different profile. Perhaps enable the built in admin account.
