Several issues over the last 7 days

Windows 10. 6yo desktop PC.
ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero ATX Motherboard
Intel i7-6700K,4.0GHz

Recent issues within the past 7 days
1. I am locked out of some web sites including .gov.uk with Your connection isn’t private error. Most web sites are unaffected.
2. I am finding it impossible to access some banks. But most are unaffected
3. My MAIL program (win10) is reporting it is not able to access its servers. (Hotmail). I can log into Hotmail through the web.
4. I can no longer use the SLEEP function. The monitor turns off, but the PC continues to run.
I am not having any problems on a second PC and a Tablet on the same network.
I have run 2 virus checkers, several Windows Repair programs and diagnostics.
I have just uninstalled every non-Microsoft program from my drives.
Nothing seems to work.

Really appreciate suggestions.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

B Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

B Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
Reset FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.

Thank you so much for your response and support.
I have used both of these companys in the past, though not either of these utilitys specifically. But it’s been so long since I’ve had any real issues. I’m kinda lost here!! :sneaky:

Anyway, what you asked for:

Corsair CX Series CX750M ATX Power Supply

MiniToolBox file as a .txt attachment. If you prefer a printout, I can post that.

Once again, thanks so much.

You can copy/paste the MTB log into a reply if it makes life easier, we will look through Speccy meanwhile.

You are welcome btw

A lot of those errors/problems are old and the ones from today precede the time that you ran MTB so we need to wait and see what goes on from here, looking at Speccy two things stand out;
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 05/12/2020

You have only installed the one Windows update, three Defender updates and one Nvidea driver in just over the 12 months since Windows was installed.

There are no system drivers shown to have ever been installed.

Can I ask why the above has gone on, both are 100% guaranteed to cause issues, both stability and security wise.

Thank you so much for your comments.
The only explaination I have for these is that, after I removed all the existing, non-Microsoft software, I did a reset. That may account for the limited updates.
(See first image).
I am normally quite attentive with these.
Not sure about the installation date. But that may be because that was the date I moved the OS over to the SSDs. My old mecanical drive was getting a bit noisy so decided it deserved to be retired to my junk box!
The OS reports it is up to date
(See second image).

One thought occured to me. That a recent update could have caused some instabilty. I have done a careful check on Google, but can find no reports.
You haven’t mentioned ay so I will assume everything is OK on Microsoft’s end.
I haven’t yet installed the 21H1 feature update because I was waiting to see if there are any issues with it.

Once Windows has been clean installed or reset you must then install first the chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from the site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

That only a worry before you did the reset so not relevant now.

How have things been since you ran MTB.

Strangely, better. Though I haven’t really had the courage you say it until now.
After the reset, very little improved to be honest.
I have taken on board, your comments about installing the correct drivers.
It has been a good few years since I installed the motherboard. I will check the ASUS site and download the relevant drivers from there. Then do another PC Reset, this time, with the LAN cable, disconnected.
The NVIDIA drivers come straight from NVIDIA of course.
I have been working under the assumption that the respite was temporary.
Though I confess to being mystified as to what it was. Thank heavens for that tablet. Like most, I’ve come to rely upon email so much.
If MTB did more than simply record the current state, then perhaps it has repaired the issue. I will be keeping that little gem in mind. As I indicated, my PC has been behaving so well for so long now, I have been quite thrown by this recent silliness. I have kinda lost touch with most of the better utility sites, apart from MajorGeeks. He’s more of a laugh than anything else.
Anyway, assuming all is well now, I must thank you so very much for your support.
