Nightmode settings stuck at loading screen

    Hey,

when I type β€œnightmode” and click on it, it opens up the settings window but is stuck at the picture of the gear. I also can’t close it anymore. I have to do it with the taskmanager. I even rebootet my laptop a few times. The problem is, that I am at 100% nightmode and it stays like that even after rebooting. Any ideas how I could fix that?
The other settings boot up fine.

Sorry but even with the best will in the world it is not possible for anyone to even begin to help when knowing zero about the computer. is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

Sorry, alright here are the specs:
It is a premade laptop from 2014 from Samsung. This is the series number: 550P7C
I have to add, that it has a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB and a Nvidia GeForce GT 630M.
      Everything else is the same.
The windows version is the newest one available to me which is Windows 10 Home 20H2

That notebook was released in 2012 and only has Windows 7 drivers available for it, are you sure that the notebooks GPU is compatible.

If you click on Action Centre in the lower right corner does it open & show an icon for Night Mode? You can also use this to turn it off.
The latest Windows 10 is 21H1 with 21H2 imminent so you should try upgrading to 21H1 at least.

Yes it first was Windows 7 but siince like at least 4 years it has been running Windows 10 with no problems. When I try to update it, it says the newest updates available are installed so…

Yeah I was able to add nightmode to quick actions and turn it off. The problem is, that it will now be either completely on or completely off. But yeah, I could manage like that if I installed a program that imitates nightmode maybe… Thx for the help.

Oh my bad I forgot that it doesn’t accept this update. Like I have tried to install it a few times but it comes up again and again.

So I guess a reinstallation of windows might solve it.

Best guide I could find here off/on and scheduled are the available settings as far as it goes on my Sony Vaio.

No problem, got a bit confused tbh as night mode to Windows = Night light which really isn[ICODE]t worth bothering with, it puts a tint on your screen and that[/ICODE]s about it, when it comes to being useless Night light is on a par with Hibernation

I just downloaded an installer from microsoft tech support and it is now trying to install the newest version.
2009 is 20H2. It is there.

So I downloaded a windows installer that installs new updates (from the official microsoft website). It is done now. Everything works again. Even the dark mode that you were talking about earlier is working bug free now. Before it was buggy. Thanks for your help.
