Then the clone/image wasnβt created with all the partitions included. How many partitions show on the backup?
Is Windows installed as UEFI or MBR? If UEFI & you clean installed 20H2 there should be 4 partitions, if youβve upgraded Windows over the years thereβs usually 5 partitions.Comment

When you did the clone did you also Optimize the ssd?
When you do a fresh install of windows you should only have 1 drive connected.

When you get the new SSD will strongly suggest that you create install media and do a fresh install then install the Chip-set and drivers in the proper order.
This way you are not copying old issues over form the previous install.
Also suggest that you look into a bigger SSD and external storage for backing up important data that you d not wish to loose.Comment

i have now added a second β DATA β drive ( 240g ssd ) with pre installed system progs
i have now installed βeaseus freeβ and created a system image
i have now replaced the original operating system with the image
it now boots evey time
so now i am going to add more progs and at least 1 more drive and do system images
