    Error code 2000:0142 - Harddrive?

I have an Alienware 17 laptop

It has been having performances issues for awhile and a few days ago it BSOD and whenever I tried booting, it would keep doing it before reaching the login screen.
I decided to factory reset it to see if the issue kept happening and now when it reaches the part of trying to install windows again it BSOD…I took out the HDD and it seems to be pretty worn out so I got a replacement and cloned over the data to it and when put it into the laptop It gives me the same issue with BSOD before beable to reinstall windows and when I checked the error code it was the same 2000:142…

The clone may have copied over some bad sectors. I would either clean install Windows or image the old drive & then restore the image to the new drive.

Have you created the factory restore disk prior the this happening?

You can also if you have not already download to install from Windows 10
      https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

You will also have to go to the Dell website and download all of the drives an install those in the proper order starting with the Chipset Driver first.
