Pc connected to WiFi however web pages won't load. Please help

Windows 10 home version 2004

4 years ago I built a Pc and never had any problems with it. A week ago I decided to move my Pc to clean my room, i cleaned it and moved it back. It was fine for a day or then it began having this issue were it would say it’s connected to WiFi at my house, however the web pages would load up extremely slow. For instance google would load after 5mins but if I tried another search it would say connection interrupted, or can’t reach this page and websites with videos such as YouTube would never load, all this time it would say WiFi connected with internet. All of my other devices that use WiFi such as phones and tablet work completely fine and quick. It also shows on my Pc the WiFi signal is strong.

I have tried everything I know and researched to fix this problem. I have tried resetting the Pc and the modem. Forgot my WiFi network and reconnected. Literally removing my network adapter from the Pc and putting it back in case it was loose located in PCI bus 5. Disabled and re enabled network adapter. Tried disabling ipv6 and just using ipv4. Scanned for hardware changes in device manager, using the trouble shooting in network and settings, a network reset, changing the DNS sever to a manual one under change network adapter options, disabling the firewall. Restored advance internet settings, checked if airplane mode is turned on, updated network driver. In services checked if DHCP client is running, if network services are all running, turned WWAN autoconfig to automatic and started it.

As well a ton of commands in cmd run as administrator such as reset winsoc and ip logs, flush dns, ipconfig release, ipconfig renew.

Lastly since I reinstalled my windows operating system windows 10 2004. When I did this I could not even see WiFi as an option anymore only Ethernet, so i plugged in my Pc using an Ethernet port and whenever i do this the internet works fine however the modem is very far from my room and this is not a permanent fix. Lastly i installed driver booster 8 and updated all my drivers, and I had a spark of joy as when i restarted my PC i saw the WiFi option so I disconnected my Ethernet and the WiFi actually worked perfectly. So i moved my Pc back to my room and it worked fine for a couple of hours and i was ecstatic. But then horror struck, it occurred again saying I’m connected to my WiFi, however web pages will not load the exact same problem I started with, and I cannot update my drivers anymore as they are up to date. Please help me I do not know what to do anymore, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Never use crap-ware like this is always snake oil.
Uses improper drives, infected, hacked
ALWAYS get drives from the manufacture site NEVER use a third party program to get them.

I was not aware of this and looked into it, I have uninstalled it now.

Couple of things of note in Speccy;

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

I suggest that you change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

You mentioned that you had reinstalled Windows but Speccy says that it was installed two months ago, from where was the media obtained, reason I ask is because updates are failing to install + you have one that has rozen.

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 2020-09-22 2:35:40 PM

The below quite possibly what is causing one or more issues;

You have Avast AV installed, no longer recommended as it causes so many issues and many of them are internet connection related, atop of this you have had McAfee on the computer and it has not been uninstalled correctly;

Antivirus
Avast Antivirus
Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

Running: McAfee True Key
Running: McAfee True Key Helper Service
Running: McAfee True Key Scheduler

I reinstalled windows not 2 months ago but a few days ago. I called into Microsoft windows 10 support and they guided me through the installation using a usb desk mount and a link from microsft which has now expired. However, I did not delete my old windows so when I boot my PC now it asks for windows 10 volume 2 which is the new windows reinstall or volume 3 which is the old windows 10 I had. Since that did not solve the problem Im back to using my original OS because it has all my apps. Maybe I should delete the new OS i installed? im not sure

I have uninstalled avast and the mcAfee software and will now see if the WiFi works for this PC.

Edit: It appears my PC is now operating correctly on WiFi, however I will hold my joy off until the end of the day as this happened once before and then reverted back to the same problem, regardless thank you so much. If I have no problem for the next few hours I will close and conclude this fourm post.

Thank you

If the computer is now working as it should be, create a new system restore point for any future emergency.

You are welcome
