Thanks. The Asus website only lists drivers up to Win 7.
Which update was it? If 2004 then these version updates can stop devices from working due to incompatibility.
Rolling back should correct it.
I suspect yours is one of the cameras which was installed upside down & the 2004 update has removed Asusβs fix to flip the picture but the restore didnβt return this.
If you can access the camera somehow you could try correcting it by turning it the right-way up.
Or if a camera is needed you can purchase a USB camera.
How can I turn it the right way up? As there must be a way of doing it, asus and Microsoft canβt just bring out updates and force you to spend out fixing their problems.
Some other suggestions:
Skype:
[ol]
[li]Open Skype.[/li][li]Go to Tools and choose Optionsβ¦[/li][li]Go to Video settings section in the left pane.[/li][li]Open Advanced tab.[/li][li]Under Image mirror section you should see Mirror Horizontal and Mirror Verticaloptions.[/li][li]Remove the ticks if these entries are selected.[/li][/ol]
Modify the registry:
Before making changes to Windows Registry, we highly recommend creating backups first. It will save from accidental damage or deletion of the important entries. In order to do that, follow these steps:
[ol]
[li]Hit Windows Key + R and type regedit in the Run box. Click OK.[/li][li]In the Registry Editor click File and choose Exportβ¦[/li][li]In the appeared box, enter the name of the backup.[/li][li]Set Export range to All.[/li][li]Click Save to create the backup.[/li][/ol]
Once itβs done, follow these steps:
[ol]
[li]Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\0000\Settings key which is in the left pane.[/li]
[li]Now you should see DWORD called Flip in the right pane. Double click it.[/li][li]In the DWORD properties box, you have to: -[/li]β Set value data to 0 if it was set to 1;
β Set value data to 1 if it was set to 0.
[li]Click OK to save the changes.[/li]Note. If you cannot find DWORD or it is located in another location, this solution wonβt help you to fix the upside down Skype camera on Windows issue.

You would have to open the monitor & physically turn the camera around. This is probably what Asus is expecting the repair store to do.
Skype an other applications running under windows 7 Ultimate are presenting the video captured from the laptop built-in webcam upside down.
I've tried many solution that I was able to find regarding
Thank you for all your suggestions and help. After trying them all, I have had to result to physically flipping the webcam board which works absolutely fine now on everything. If there happens to be an update in the future that flips the camera back around, i just need to physically flip the camera back around
