My computerβs CPU with Windows 10 is constantly running. It is hard to interrupt. It may take up to 30 seconds or longer to recognize new mouse clicks, select items from menus, etc. The modem shows constant activity. I have run Malewarebyte and McAfee scans which finds an occasional PUP error. I have tried to restore but no restore points exists early enough. Itβs almost like something has taken over the computer. Larry

Thereβs an incompatibility between the two, their workaround is to either disable ransomware protection or download the Beta version.Comment

Microsoft have released the 2004 Windows upgrade, itβs this Iβm referring to.
Try safe mode: press & hold shift while clicking restart, Continue holding shift until the recovery options are shown, then choose troubleshoot>Startup Options, once in safe mode try opening MB again or use the taskbar icon to turn off ransomeware protection.
Also Start>Run & enter winver to determine whether you have 2004 or 1909 installed.Comment

This will show what is running in the system. This does not include the power supply information you will need to post the make and model.
Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.Comment
