    Cant download to my E Drive

    i got this pc as a second hand prebuild and in it, it had a 120gb ssd (C drive) and a 1tb hdd(E) and whenever i try to install to my drive (hdd) i geterrors like “access is denied” or “cannot find path” I can download to my ssd then move over once the downlaods is done How ever i have set permisions for both drives to have full control. I have tried many diferent options online regarding permisions and removing write only mode but to no avail. and is becoming more annoying as my ssd fills up meaninng anytime i wanna download i have to start moving stuff from drive to drive. Any help will be really appreciate as i just want to be able to use my pc normally!

    Can you upload an expanded screenshot of Disk Manager for us.

    Access Disk Management via Run.

    Press the Windows+R keys to open Run, type diskmgmt.msc in the empty box then press OK.

    To capture and post a screenshot;

    Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start…all programs…accessories…paint…left click in the white area …press CTRL + V…click on file…click on save…save it to your desktop…name it something related to the screen your capturing… BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG …otherwise it may be to big to upload… after typing in any response you have… click on Upload a File to add the screenshot.

    Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

                    First thing you should have done when taking receipt of the PC was a clean install tbh, clean slate and your set up arrangements and the likes.

                    You could try a reset which will allow you to keep data but not apps, that will be as close to a clean install as you will get, see example guide here

                    NB: Just a btw, the reset would be a better option for now in any event as a 120GB SSD is not enough for a Windows boot drive, I wont use less than 256GB in a build nowadays, there wont be any new versions of Windows most likely and Windows 10 will just keep on updating and growing and updating/growing etc.

                      okay so i have done that and it fixed the problem downloadsing from the store but i still cant install directly into my E drive.
                      I get you the person who built it had put windows on fresh so didnt think it was needed when i firdt got it but wil do in the future.
                      This lproblem is really bugging me i cant install anything and for some reason i lost a game when reseting and only way to reinstall is to clear 20gig off my ssd
                      What other steps could i take? would formating the hard drive fix the issue? Im pretty desprate so will try anything.

                          Absolutely no idea and it would have been wrong of me to suggest it.

                          Lot of reading but if you are dead set on resolving this take a look here

                          Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

                              It moves all of the users profiles from the C: drive to the D: drive so that when anything gets saved it automatically saves to D:, I would not have suggested this had you not just done the reset and can I just bring to your attention the warning given at the tutorial, method two is what you need and be sure to watch the video first.
