    High cpu spikes when idle

    Hello,

So recently my computer started doing some weird cpu spikes every few seconds. Before it wasnโ€™t the case, but now when im gaming it really stutters and it is really annoying.

It looks like this, I reset my computer everything works fine, 5-9% cpu usage while watching youtube or browsing facebook, but some time later, when everything is idle the graph looks like this (pic attached) and it randomly spikes from 5-30% when idle. I dont know what is happening, sometimes it says it is โ€œsvchostโ€ another time that it is โ€œSystemโ€

    Hello

It is normal that the svchost could be running up to 60 services at a timeโ€ฆ Also it could be a trojan with services marked under this

"Svchost.exe is Located at โ€œC:\windows\system32svchost.exeโ€,any file named โ€œsvchost.exeโ€ located in other folder can be considered as a malware/Trojan. And if you find any file with name Scvhost.exe at some other Location then it is an indication of virus or trojan. "

So you may want to do a scan with your pc protection.. To be sure.

How long has this been happening

Some security programs will run and or update when the system is idle.

This is also true when Windows updates.
