I just finish setting up my new windows 10 computer, I found a CD that I burned years ago on my old Dell Inspiron XP windows. I put the CD in my new computer and a message popped up saying : This item was encoded in a format not supported. Is there anyway I can download something to open this CD or did I just lose all my old pictures..
Getting a DVD drive error on my computer...

It may be in UDF format, if so youβll require Nero or try unzipping the file with Windows built-in software, you can also try to mount the CD as a virtual disk.
Or try: Adaptec UDF Reader Driver for Windows - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download
If not UDF then what file extension is showing? -
If itβs an AVi file then windows media player should open it. However you can try VLC player:

Those are just various mirrors for downloading the same version so any are good.
