    UAC Virtualization????

So I have been having an ongoing problem with my video editing program taking around 5 minutes to load ( I posted a thread abiout it months agao and thought I had solved it, but I didnโ€™t.), after reintalling it and clicking it again, it was taking forever to load. I checked Task Manager and it showed the program was taking up 0% of cpu, and 4mb of memory while loading, I right clicked it and selected go to details, on that page there is a column called UAC Virtualization, it showed Disabled, so I right clicked it and in the context menu clicked UAC Virtualization, and then the program loaded immediately. I have closed and opened the program about 6 times now and it loads immediately. Although Iโ€™m not sure how it will act in a day or two, if it will start messing up again, but for now it seems like enabling UAC Virtuaslization allows it to load right away. Does anyone know what this is and why it is? I noticed other programs like Malwarebytes, for example, UAC Virtualization is also disabled.

ah okay, appreciate the info. But do you know why after enabling it my video editing program (VideoPad) loaded right away instead of taking 5 minutes to load? Also it looks like after enabling it it didnโ€™t stick, it reverted back and now it doesnโ€™t seem to have any effect on the program whether itโ€™s enabled or not, the program still takes forever to load. Iโ€™m at a loss, becuase itโ€™s the only program that hangs like that, the main reason I built my computer was for video editing but it seems like it just doesnโ€™t like my setup for some reason. Thereโ€™s no reason why a video editing program should take 5 minutes to load when i have it installed on a m.2 nvme ssd. DaVinci Resolve loads right away and itโ€™s a larger file and more complicated and feature packed program compared to VideoPad.

Suggest it is the way videopad may have been written but Iโ€™ll let the others give a more suitable response.

have you tried disabling UAC to see if that helps?
set your User Account Control settings to Never Notify.
