    If I may chime in here folks

    Din Djarin

    Can you post the brand and model name or number of the notebook and a Speccy url for us if you will, see info below;

    Fwiw, like AMDs catalyst control centre I have always found Nvideas equivalent to also be a pain in the proverbial and far more trouble than they are worth, even more so on notebooks and brand name desktops as the OEMs BIOS tends to call the shots on what the motherboards discreet video chip is allowed to do performance wise.

    Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

    To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

    In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

    In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

    Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

      @gus @phillpower2

      Everything was fine until I finally updated my laptop, now I’m having issues. GeForce works fine, I can record in game via Shadowplay and update drivers. It’s just the control panel that seems to be the issue.

      Another problem has presented itself now. My touchpad will not work. I have a mouse I always use, but the touchpad had never been disabled. Now it just won’t work. Tried updating the driver but it said my driver is updated. Here’s a screenshot of the error I get with that, and then here is your Speccy.

      Please edit my post after reading and remove the speccy link. I’d rather not have the entire internet viewing my PC info, even if it’s nothing private.

        There are no updates shown to have been installed since you upgraded, this includes for Windows Defender.

        Disconnect any additional USB devices that you may have connected to the computer, create a new system restore point then check for and install any security updates, once done, do the below for us;

        Download and run DriverView which you can get from here

        Save the results to text and attach to your next reply for us if you will.

          I can’t remove all the USBs. As I said, my touchpad no longer works. Without my mouse I can’t do anything.

          I checked for updates, still getting the same error.

          Should I update again via the method Gus posted in the YT video?

            Aware of this and why I said β€œDisconnect any additional USB devices that you may have connected to the computer,” apart from the mouse Speccy was showing at least one other USB device as being attached to the notebook, maybe Speccy had it wrong but last thing we need is an external USB storage device being connected and all of the data ends up getting wiped off it.

            Can I ask what happened to the requested list of drivers?

            I will let gus advise you on the content of the YT video, not one for interfering unless asked to.

              If you followed those instructions in the video then there’s no point of repeating it.

                Here is the list:

                @gus I did, but I’m still in the same place I was when I made this topic. Windows is giving me an error while searching for an update. The track pad isn’t my main priority, I just want my laptop to update when it should.

                    Asked this back in reply #16, can you post the info asap, we can`t check what drivers you should have installed without knowing the correct brand and model name or number of the notebook, we could also do with an up to date Speccy url if you will, there is no personal data in the report so no way of identifying anyone but we will if you wish delete the url once we have gone through it.

                          Can we have the Speccy url and not the log, we don`t want people seeing any product keys.

                          Your GPU drivers are all there so it is just the control panel service itself that is amiss, seem to be a common problem, couple of suggestions here

                              Create a new system restore point, download then run the Windows All in One Repair tool from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.
