ew PC build during idle service host max's memory then display driver fails to start and black screen

Hi there I recently did my first PC build. First 2 months I had no problem but then came to find my computer was black screened but mouse was working. Restarting fixed the problem but then every 2-3 days the computer would randomly do the same thing over and over.

After catching it sooner what happens it looks like is all service host programs memory shoot up super high and memory is running at 99% until you click somewhere then it says display driver failed to start and the computer blacks out but mouse still works. I have done every system update and driver update possible everything in that department seems to be working fine and I am not sure what started to cause this.

    SPECS:
    GIGABYTE B450M DS3H
    AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Processor
    Corsair Semi-Modular ATX CX450M
Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD
    Corsair CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3200
NVIDIA GTX 1060 6gb graphic card
    Windows 10

Sorry for the crappy pictures I took them with my cell phone

Check that all of the cables to and from the modular PSU to your hardware are all securely connected.

Those pictures are of no use I`m afraid as we cannot see anything, do the following for us and we will come back to getting better screenshots should we need them.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Thanks alot here is the speccy profile web link: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/G...8kzQI1IYnj0loy

I will have to open up the computer to double check all the cables but kind of odd it runs perfect for first couple months then this starts. If possible I will try to do the speccy scan when the service hosts memory starts jumping super high before the computer goes black.

Out of curiosity, after the restart and it working then taking 2-3 days to reoccur, do you turn the pc off regularly in the interim, like nightly?

Here is after about 12 hours: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/E...paGmelT2NrHd4E

I have my task manager open and I can watch all the service host process’s slowly creep the memory up by 0.1 currently at 65% and it will eventually max out and black screen.

After the re-start yes it works perfect then normally takes around 1-3 days to reoccur. I do turn it off every other day overnight but not every night.

Ive seen svchost go through the roof when windows does auto updates.
Check them manually and see if there are any.
Also wouldn’t hurt to do a full malware scan to make sure all of them are legit.

Fingers crossed for you that the issue is resolved (y)

We will leave your thread open for a few days yet just in case you need to post back, can I ask that when you get a chance that you post an updated Speccy url for us, this will allow us to check certain things that were going on in the previous Speccy urls.
