    Welcome to PCHF Bgambles,

What is the brand and model name or number of the PC.

If you stay in the BIOS does the BIOS information remain on screen or does the screen go blanks after a while.

See if you are able to force the computer to start in the Windows Recovery Environment (RE) by starting up and shutting down the computer two or three times using the case power button, please note that you need to shut down the computer after the MBs splash screen and just as Windows attempts to load, if successful you should then continue to the Troubleshooting options and then hopefully be able to use a system restore point, a system restore or Safe Mode etc.

Let us know how it goes or if you have any questions.

I have made a little progress from the gray screen I typed in password and it opened up to desktop but nothing will load.

Were you able to get into the Windows RE using the steps that were suggested.

You mention that nothing will load, what is it that you are trying to load and can you open the Action Centre by right clicking on what looks like a monitor/screen, bottom right of the taskbar.
